PAYMENT

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following all credit cards. We also accept payment by PayPal. If you decide to use this method, you’ll be taken to PayPal's website, where you’ll be prompted to log in and process your payment. You’ll then be directed back to our merchant website once your transaction is complete.

Where is my refund?

We aim to process refunds within three days of an item being returned to us. Please note, however, that your bank may take several days to process the payment back into your account. With that said, please allow up to ten working days after posting the item back to us before getting in touch about your refund. We’ll contact you by email to let you know when your refund has been processed.

SHIPPING

I am trying to order but my address is giving an error of "No shipping address". What can I do?

Every once in a while a customer forgets to check the box to have shipping and billing the same, this is normally the problem.  If you checked that box and it still does not work, in rare cases the server doe not recognize your address. 

Just email Master Control at info@MasterControlsWoodshop.com and he will create a draft order from what you attempted to order, and most likely will use PayPal Shipping, and send you an invoice to pay with your credit card. We are here to try to make your experience as smooth as possible, even when it is beyond our control.

Are customs taxes included in my shipping charges?

UK customers where is my package?  No – We are not responsible for any country’s customs taxes and fees, nor are they incorporated in any way to the shipping costs. Please take this issue up with your government.  It is the customer’s responsibility to follow up on these matters.

Will my product be insured?

We only insure orders that are sent USPS Priority Mail up to $100 in total and have a US Domestic address. This cost is absorbed into your original shipping fee.  If you want more let me know what the cost will be.

My package hasn't arrived yet! What can I do?

Delivery dates are not guaranteed. We guarantee that we will mail your gift to the address you provide to us, on the date you've selected during checkout.  We mail via USPS and UPS, which means your order should arrive 1-5 days after we put it in the mail, depending on the destination zip code. You will receive an automated email with your tracking information when we create the mailing label, so you can track your order's progress to its final destination.

Once the package is in transit, we are no longer in control of it. We can not edit addresses via USPS or UPS once the package is in transit. Occasionally USPS and UPS experiences delays due to weather or high volumes around major holidays.  We are not responsible for these delays.

What happens to returned packages?

If the address provided to us is invalid or inaccurate, USPS or UPS will return the package to us. We make every effort to validate all addresses we mail to, however the customer bears the responsibility of providing a correct shipping address. Packages typically take anywhere from one week to one month or more to be returned to us. Once we recieve it back, we will need to charge you for shipping it back to you once again., so make sure the address is correct, and there is means for delivery.  

ORDERING & DELIVERY

Can I place an order without creating an account?

Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account. We do recommend that you create an account, however, if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time. It’s quick and easy to create an account. Just visit https://www.yourstorename.com/register and follow the instructions on-screen.

Where is my order confirmation?

This is automatically sent to your email address when you place an order. If you haven’t received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please get in touch at info@MasterControlsWoodshop.com just in case there’s a problem with your order. Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

Why has my order been canceled?

We typically only cancel orders if there’s a problem with your order where we been asked by our credit card processor due to possible fraud to investigate, and we have attempted multiple time through mqail, phone and chat and we have had no response or if you’ve asked us to cancel. Please accept our apologies if your order is canceled because of a problem at our end. We’ll always offer an alternative product and process your refund in full, as quickly as possible.

How do I cancel my order?

There is only a short amount of time between when you place your order and when we start processing it. If you contact us straight away after ordering, via sales@yourstorename.com, we may be able to cancel your order before it’s processed. If not, we’ll despatch your order and then you can return it to us if you wish upon receiving it.

Can I alter my order?

Sadly, we’re unable to modify your order once we’ve started processing it. If you need to order a greater quantity or an additional product, please place a new order online.

When will my order arrive?

Orders that require shipping within the U.S. will be delivered within three to ten days, depending on your preferred shipping method. We can not be  reponsible once it leaves our shop, so if it is shipped, you will need to contact the shipping method you choose for that order.  Shipping to countries outside of the U.S. may take up to 14 days. Please get in touch if your order hasn’t been delivered according to the expected timescales, and we will check your order status.

How much is shipping?

Shipping costs depend on the item you’ve ordered and the country where it’s being delivered. Please refer to this delivery cost table (add link) to check the postage fees for different destination countries. If your order value is more than $75, we provide free shipping within the U.S.

Can I track my order?

Yes. We’ll provide updates at every stage of your order, from the moment you place it, through to despatch and delivery. In your delivery confirmation emails, you’ll receive a tracking reference which you can use to check the progress of your order online.

If I buy a Product from the store, when will it be delivered?

Every wooden product in the Master Control's Woodshop & Toys store is made by hand and at times made to order. We ship these items within one week of receiving the order (unless the product is listed as being on backorder OR lead time on product page states otherwise). We always ship via Priority Mail, which takes 2-3 business days for Domestic shipping unlees you choose another option. You should receive your USA domestic order within 3-10 days, though it often arrives earlier. International Customers please allow 12-14 days for delivery. Due to customs we cannot guarantee delivery by a certain date.

RETURNS

Can I return or exchange an item?

You can absolutely return your item to us.  You have 7 days from receiving your item to resolve any return/exchange issues. Customized merchandise is final sale.

However, each product has it’s own return policy listed on the product page. Returns are accepted for damaged, broken paddles or if you just don’t like it. It is rare, but just let us know so we can fix the problem and get you what you want ASAP. You can contact us at: info@MasterControlsWoodshop.com.  Breakages are extremely rare but they can happen. If a paddle breaks due to faulty workmanship (highly unlikely) or a fault in the wood (it’s always the tree’s fault) I may offer you a comparable replacement item if one is available. We require that the broken item to be returned to us so I can examine it to better understand the reason for the breakage.  Unfortunately, we don’t offer exchanges.

I gladly accept returns

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

The following items are exempt from returns and can’t be returned or exchanged

Damages and issues

My order has arrived but it’s not as I expected. What can I do?

In the rare event that your order arrives damaged or faulty due to shipping handling, please take photos of the product in question and email Master via info@MasterControolsWoodshop.com with the details. We’ll respond within 48 hours.  Please understand we are not reponsible for the product once it leaves our shop, so if the shipping company damaged the product, you should use the insurance on your Priority Mail, by contacting USPS or UPS.

If you just don’t like the product for any reason, we’ll gladly accept it back as a return, providing it’s in “as new” condition, in its original packaging with all labels attached.

How long does it take to return an item?

This depends on the carrier or shipping method that you choose when returning your item. Once we receive your return, we’ll notify you by email. We aim to process refunds within three days after receiving the item, if it is in an approved condition, but it can take several days for your bank or credit card provider to process the refund into your account, or onto your card.

PRODUCTS

My product has a slight imperfection; is this refundable, or just part of the whole “handmade craft” thing?

One of our primary attractions in making handmade wooden products is the charming idiosyncrasies inherent in working with a medium (trees) that is always changing. No single piece of wood looks like any other, and as such they are all perfectly imperfect! 

So the answer is yes – it’s a part of the whole handmade craft thing. The world has many other avenues available to procure something that looks exactly like it does in the catalog, but fortunately our shop is not one of those avenues.  

Do you wholesale?

Yes we can, but keep in mind we create all products upon order.  If you are interested in wholesaling from us, contact Master at: info@MasterControlsWoodshop.com

Do you only make your wood products with hardwoods only?

Due to the nature of our products, and that we want to create sage and long lasting products that make our customers happy, Master has choosen to use more dense wood types, unless the product require a lighter wood type, like our cedar bath mats.  We love the natural grains of hardwoods, and know they can withstand a lot more "pounding" than softwoods.

What type of leather do you use?

We want the highest quality leather possible, so we obtain most of our leather from Italy.  Italian leather is superior in many ways.  So, Italian leather vs. American leather, which is better? I have researched and worked with Italian and American leather and can comfortably tell you that both are great! Italian leather is often associated with luxury and quality, while American leather is usually linked with more practical uses.

Italian leather is well-known for its high quality and aesthetic appeal; hence, it is one of the most versatile leather types in the industry. Thanks to its suppleness, resilience, and distinct feel and appearance, it is often used for a wide range of products.

Most Italian leathers out there are sourced from the hides of sheep, cattle, and other animals bred in Italy. These animal skins are tanned using a range of natural and synthetic tanning processes and are colored and finished appropriately – top artisans in the country handle all these. Italian leather’s manufacturing process is tough and soft, leaving it with a distinct natural appearance and feel.

Hence, one can comfortably say that such leathers are a product of the excellent standards of “Italian tanneries,” which are known for creating some of the world’s best leather. Now, while the term “Italian leather” is not patented and does not guarantee high quality, the leather items produced by top manufacturers in this country are top-notch.

Compared to other leathers, Italian leather is frequently thought to be of higher quality since it is treated with unique solutions, including wax that effectively locks in its natural moisture and oils, making it have high resistance to tear and wear.

How can you tell real Italian leather?

Italian leather is well-known for its outstanding quality and workmanship and is often used in the production of luxury products, including purses, shoes, and clothes. Understanding how to recognize authentic Italian leather from imitation might help you save money and avoid purchasing inferior items.

  • Examine the texture: Genuine Italian leather has a smooth, supple feel with a subtle gloss, whereas imitation leather is often rigid, with a plastic-like look and touch.
  • Take Cognizance of the Smell: The scent of genuine Italian leather is sometimes characterized as “earthy” or “musky,” while fake options often have a chemical odor.
  • Check How It Feels: The real deal has a homogeneous, smooth surface, but the texture of fake leather is often rough or uneven.
  • Look Out for Imperfections: Scars, wrinkles, and other natural characteristics are common in genuine Italian leather. However, the texture and color of fake leather are typically constant.
  • Consider the weight: Real Italian leather is often heavier than imitation leather.

Is Lexan (polycarbonate) really strong?

Bulletproof glass. Headlamps. DVDs. Lexan serves as an essential material for the creation of countless modern products and components, so much so that you’ve probably used an item made with Lexan today without even knowing it. But how, you may ask, can the same material be tough enough to stop a bullet and yet flexible enough to help create something as delicate as a DVD? The answer lies in Lexan’s unique chemical makeup and in a development process that led to it becoming one of our world’s most valued and widely-used plastics.

Benefits and Uses

Those resistances, however, are but two of the attributes that have made Lexan such a popular and celebrated material. The polycarbonate's remarkable features include…

  • High level of impact resistance (250 times the impact resistance of glass)
  • Low rigidity and can be bought in flexible grades
  • Can handle temperatures up to 240 degrees Fahrenheit before deforming
  • Highly resistant to acids and other chemicals such as gasoline
  • Can be drilled without worry of cracking
  • Can be cold formed or bent without heating
  • Low level of flammability

That is not to say, however, that Lexan is a perfect material. There are a few tradeoffs that manufacturers are forced to accept for this level of flexibility and all-around strength, tradeoffs that include…

  • Easier to scratch than glass and some other thermoplastics
  • More expensive than glass and some other thermoplastics
  • Poor clarity, cannot be polished to restore clarity
  • Can be yellowed over time by UV rays
  • Low level of resistance to abrasive cleaners and surfaces
  • Can be dented easily

Do you have a showroom?

We're sorry, we do not have a storefront or showroom. We do occasionally work conventions and vendor fairs where you can meet Master Control personally and buy directly at our booth. He loves meeting our customers face to face, so come on out and say hi if you can.   However due to safety and liability issues due to having children at the shop location, we cannot have people dropping in to say hello.   However, if you are local, I can meet with you and show you chosen pieces.

Do you do custom work?

To keep our prices down and our service and quality high we only offer customized products at Master Control's Woodshop & Toys.  There are many woodworking products on our site like furniture, adult toys & household products. Not every woodworking design is the same. Furthermore, not every woodworking design has that look and feel you want. Sometimes, you want something unique.
